Opening Ceremony

One of the social highlights of the Games — The Opening Ceremony will be held in the Energy Events Centre (EEC), Queens Drive, Rotorua.  

. All those participating in the Athletes March will assemble at 3pm at a clearly marked area in Government Gardens in their State, Territory or Nation groups.

Registration and the Games Hub will be open prior to assembling for the march, so an opportunity to catch up with old and new friends.

The march will commence at 3:30pm and will reach the Energy Event Centre in time for the beginning of the Opening Ceremony at 4pm.

The Opening Ceremony will begin in the carpark area with a powhiri and, once we are welcomed, will move inside for the remainder of the festivities.

Food and beverages will be available following the Opening Ceremony – Once the formalities are complete we are sure you will want to stick around for an evening of awesome kiwi entertainment with the McLean Brothers
